05 Apr Coops undergo policy formulation trainings
To help make their businesses sustainable in the long run, the Aboitiz Group, in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region IV-A and the Batangas Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Enterprise Development Office, organized Policy Formulation trainings for six cooperatives in Batangas.
Aboitiz business units Aboitiz Power Renewables, Inc. (APRI) Makban and AboitizLand also contributed resources to organize trainings for San Felix Multipurpose Cooperatives, Labrador Multipurpose Cooperative, St. Joseph Multipurpose Cooperative, Social Venture Multipurpose Cooperative, San Pedro Multipurpose Cooperative, and Kasama Halal Cooperative.
The training session, an initiative under the Cooperative Capacity Building Project of the Aboitiz Foundation, emphasized the importance of policies in guiding the cooperatives in decision making and providing standards by which work is performed. Above all, policies help maintain unity and harmony within the organization.
During the training, beneficiaries learned the different concepts about policy formulation, its major types, penalties associated, organizational steps relating to formulation, among others. They were also oriented about their roles as needed in the process of formulating policies for their respective organizations.
“Ang programa ng Aboitiz ay naka-align sa programa ng CDA. Layunin natin na bigyan ng tamang edukasyon ang mga officers at members ng kooperatiba para mas mapabuti nila ang pamamalakad ng kanilang organisasyon at mga kabuhayan (The program of Aboitiz is aligned with our program in CDA. Our goal is to educate our officers and members so they will do better in managing their organizations and livelihood),” shared Salvador Valeroso, Regional Director – CDA Region 4-A.
